I haven’t done one of these in a while. Soft lighting, the rain lashing against my window, a soundtrack for my thoughts — I write so many of these newsletters that I forget that at my core, I am a romantic. And there is nothing that sings to my soul more than this.
Happy Venus Day, and welcome to February! ↯
The astrology of this month is mild, with a hint of spice ☁️ The most exciting thing happens toward the end, when Sun, Mercury and Saturn host a threeso party in Pisces ♓️ — but before then, all our personal planets go through the “tollbooth” of Pluto in Aquarius.
I liken this to being anointed by the King as you pass through his gates: this will be the first time we collectively experience what our planets of mind (Mercury), passion (Mars) and beauty (Venus) are like in Pluto’s presence.
Expect an emphasis on Aquarian themes, with a Plutonian touch — Pluto has no patience for bullsh!t, and Aquarius will sooner chop off their hand than not live in alignment with their truth. Together, you have a heady combination of:
What would my life look like if I actually live as my true self?
Let’s find out. ❋
A personal update, and my intention for Feb ↯
January was one of the busiest months in memory:
I launched a new offering, and it sold out (the waitlist is now open for March)
I published six Substacks, and received +250 new subscribers (welcome! 👋)
I experimented with repurposing my Substack content on Instagram in creative ways, and started hitting >2,000 views on my reels consistently
I connected deeply with new clients on 1:1 readings, and received stunning feedback like this:
Despite all these traditional markers of “success”, I didn’t find myself feeling very fulfilled. I was content, absolutely, and confident, and desperately grateful — but not fulfilled.
I deliberately gave myself this past week off, to recalibrate and look back on the month. That’s when I started putting the pieces together, noting how much work I’d done, how much I’d produced, and written, and given given given, without saving even a scrap for myself:
So that’s my intention for February:
❁ To soften into the hard. To live life with more intention, ease, and balance ❁
I don’t know about you, but I’m a work-hard play-hard kinda gal. When I start riding the momentum of productivity, I tend to forget about everything else — which makes me feel like a bit of a runaway train at times. 🚂
February is typically a hard month for me. It’s when Lunar New Year usually is, which — for many others — is a delightful time of family festivities and honoring traditional customs, but for me, a painful reminder of how out of place I feel in my own family, striking the balance between how honest I should be about what I do for a living, and managing my energy levels from the endless reunion dinners.
This year, I’m deliberately managing my schedule as to not get overwhelmed:
Reducing the number of reading spots I’m offering,
Scheduling majority of my calls in advance (I feel 100x better when I can plan),
Injecting moments of levity into my week, like swing dance classes 💃
I also said yes to a major (random) opportunity to be a part of a commercial shoot. I am NOT a model, nor does this have anything to do with my work, but I’m slowly learning that perhaps the secret to appreciating what you have is to be confronted with something totally different.
Some Aquarius-Plutonian wisdom for us to snack on 🤣
The comments are open, so I’d love to know…
