I’ve been swimming in alphabet soup all day, but the words just aren’t flowing. Allow me to paint you a visual — a swarm of bees, buzzing buzzing buzzing. Not a gentle hum but more like a cacophony; a scream.
Welcome to Gemini season for someone that struggles with Air. 🐝🌬️
I ran a poll on my Stories a couple days back,
“Are you feeling scattered???”
88% voted yes. 12% voted for the nuclear option, ‘HELP I CAN’T KEEP UP’.
My relationship to Air feels like a catch-22. I use social media just like any other self respecting citizen. I scroll on reels and lose track of time. I read Substacks on the loo, to curb said social media habit.
But my relationship to Air is unhealthy. It’s broken.
It’s too focused on consumption, not creation. And I’m exhausted.
Jupiter has entered Gemini on May 25. ꩜
The gas giant will remain there until June 2025. A whole year living in the realm of communication, connection, and words.
In traditional astrology, Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini, the opposite sign to his home-base of Sagittarius. There, he lacks the resources to function as he normally would. The best way to understand this is with the analogy:
If Jupiter in Sagittarius is the forest, Jupiter in Gemini is the trees. 🌲
Jupiter in Sagittarius is armed with a knapsack and binoculars. He is zoomed out, ready for a hike, for adventure, traipsing off the beaten trail to scope out a river for his evening bath. Jupiter in Gemini is a botanist, glasses perched precariously on his nose as he leans in close, noting the bark of a tree one moment, foraging for fungi the next, marking all the details in his weathered notebook.
For Jupiter in Gemini, the devil is in the details. For Jupiter in Sagittarius, the details may very well kill you.
So, back to present modern day, and our current predicament.
Jupiter is an expander. So the mercurial energy of Air, the frenetic excitable mutability of Gemini, is being spotlighted to us right now.
For those with strong Air placements, this is a blessing. A cool breeze on a hot summer’s day. Finally, the words flow. Friends reach out. Ideas connect. The world makes sense again.
For those who prefer to float in quiet Waters or root in solid Earth, this energy feels . . . too much. Like being handed a buzzing iPhone after a yearlong detox in the woods. (After all, Jupiter was in Taurus…)
My goal as an astrologer has always been to share practical solutions, to make the mystical applicable in our everyday life.
꩜ So here’s a reframe:
Air is neutral in quality. It all depends on how we’re relating to it.
At its core, Air desires movement. So we need to consciously let it flow.
If your mind feels busy, are you airing it out?
If your words feel stuck, are you writing it out?
If your connection feels fraught, are you talking it out?
In my astrology practice, I’m always talking about the difference between healthy vs. stuck expressions of an element. Water that hasn’t moved is dank and musty and full of algae. Similarly, Air that hasn’t flowed is like being in a room all day with all the windows shut tight.
It literally cuts us off from our life force. 🌬️
When Air has a chance to flow, we come back into balance.
I feel 1054068% better (a scientific number) after writing this post. It’s not perfect. In fact, it’s pretty unlike my usual posts (I’m on day 1 of my bleed, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). But my Air just needed a space to flow. And in the spirit of Jupiter in Gemini, I feel like it will spark a conversation.
That’s exactly what I desire.
So for the rest of Gemini season, as we muddle through the ups and downs of Air, remember to let it flow —
— and if all else fails, you can always start a Substack 😉
Coming up next week: Mercury enters Gemini, and we’ll have a 🌚 New Moon in Gemini ♊️. Seems like journaling prompts might be in order?

What is your relationship with Air energy? Are you thriving or surviving this season? How do you “let the Air flow” in your life? I love learning from your experiences in the comments. ꩜ I’ll go first…
Did you know that if you tap the heart ♡, it will help others on Substack discover this piece and also make me super happy? 🥰 Love you!
A couple days ago, Shawn said to me: "Are you making time for what matters to you?" and it really hit me. So one morning, when I woke up feeling particularly chaotic, I wrote in my journal first thing. I know everyone talks about Morning Pages but I've really struggled to make something like that a habit. But wow – it was like a scrub for my brain. I felt cleansed. I saw the world with fresh, clean eyes. Somehow, by getting the Air out first thing, I was able to change the narrative. So that's gonna be my new go-to practice from now on. 🧼🐝🌬️ What's yours?
Loved this one a lot! Especially the back story that it just flowed out of you, which only happens when we truly let the mind goooo. As a Gemini rising and Aquarius midheaven, I am either right in the details or so far up in big visionary philosophies, it can be hard to stay tethered!! Your post made me consider that Jupiter in Gemini invites us to focus on the details to expand the bigger picture! To get curious about something specific and small; and see where the story leads 😍
