Cancer season comes in like a sigh on June 20, just in time for the solstice. Whenever I think of Cancer, I think of foam breaking on the shore. The gentle lap of waves. Shaping. Loving. Nurturing. Whatever it takes to build a home.

Cancer gets a bad rap for being “sensitive”. I would know, I’m a Cancer Rising. But Cancer’s sensitivity stems from our ability to accurately intuit the general atmosphere of a room, a person, a business deal — the vibes, if you will. If you find yourself immune to the subtle atmospheric shifts of the spaces you’re in, including your own body, this is the perfect season to tune in.

Cancer cares. Our heart is often too full, filled with the weight of a thousand words unspoken. As a cardinal sign, Cancer uses that care as a driving force for action — don’t be fooled by the myth of the ‘crabby crybaby’. Cancerian emotions, when activated, can power the whole world 🦀

This Capricorn Full Moon is a special one.

First of all, there will be two Capricorn Full Moons bookending Cancer season, at 1º and 29º respectively. New and Full Moons work in 6 month cycles, which means that whatever is coming to fruition from the New Moon in Capricorn (Jan 11) will have two chapters to wrap it all up — now, and then a grand finale on July 21.

I have a perfect example of this. Many of you know that I took up swing dancing last year. What started out as a fun hobby quickly evolved to an obsession (what’s new, with my Scorpio-ruled 5th house stellium?).

I took my first ever official class around the New Moon in Capricorn.

At this first Capricorn Full Moon, I invested in my first pair of dancing shoes. I’ve been dancing every single day with my new dance partner, taking it very seriously. We’re gearing up for our first official performance together.

The day of the performance? The second Capricorn Full Moon.

You can’t make this stuff up!!!!!! 🌕✨

All about the second Full Moon in Capricorn

Capricorn is the archetype of commitment. ♑️

What are you committing to? What are you getting serious about? Where are you building legacy?

The solstice is a beautiful mid-year check-in that coincides with the purging quality of the Full Moon. Saturn, the ruler of this full moon, will be stationing retrograde next week on June 30 — an energetic time of slowing down and turning within. It is the perfect time to reevaluate our goals and direction, being truly honest with ourselves: “is this where I see my life going?”.

In the true spirit of Cancer season, listen to your quiet intuitive nudges.

They will tell you what is worth carrying… and what you might put down instead.
